"I'm sorry," he laughed as well jokingly shying away from her accusation. "I thought you just had to water and they would grow, my gardener does a great job at my house, don't know what I did wrong."

"You can drown a plant?"

Biting her lip to keep from laughing in his face, she nodded. "Plants like flowers only need enough water to keep the soil from being bone dry. Most flowers don't like moist or we soil."

He considered this, "so it's not like the more you give it the more t grows?" Gabriel had no idea, planting and growing definitely was not his area of expertise.

She shook her head slowly. "Definitely not."

Their banter continued as the yacht moved through the water, finally approaching the next port, their destination.

Ana relaxed over time, forgetting why she was actually there, at least to some degree. She enjoyed his wit, was challenged by it.

Their destination was a carnival, somewhat like Coney Island, but it had been reserved for just the two of them. It made the fun atmosphere romantic, he had done a good job listenin to her. He wanted to leave an impact something she wouldn't forget so he could see her again. He brought her back to the shaby pier of gothamme. It was rather late.

Ana admitted that she had had a really good time. He was fun to be with, if she could ignore the fact that he was, in reality, a horrible person. But she hadn't learned a damn thing about any of his more villainous plans.

Gabriel talked quite a bit, he told her about his business and his mother whom he was quite close with. He talked about his travels and was always charismatic and charming while keeping up with asking her questions. But he never strayed into any suspicious territory. When they came to the dock he asked, "so any chance if may get a second date?"

Ana answered his questions with as much honesty as possible, but like him avoided revealing an compromising information. She felt it was a fair trade, they both learned a fair bit about who they would be if they didn't have their other secret jobs. When he asked, she barely had to consider. She had already invested this much time, and learned nothing. To abandon the course now would mean that she had completely wasted the time, rather than invested it. "You might," she replied sunnily. "If you're very, very good."

"I haven't even asked for a kiss yet," Gabriel pointed out. "I'd say I've done pretty good." He started walking with her off the boat, down the stairs and onto the dock.
