Quin nodded, this had to work, and he took her to Gabriel's giant manor.

Ana went up to where Quin told her Gabriel was. She knocked softly on the door before opening it and peaking in. "Gabriel, are you in here?" she asked.

His manor from the outside looked like it had been shut down. The heavy drapes had been closed over all the large windows and his cars were all parked away in the garage. None of his staff seemed to be around, the manor was a disaster and two of his dining room chairs were floating in the pool. When he heard her enter, Gabriel didn't know how to react, he didn't want her to see him in this way, hadn't expected this. There were empty bottles of jack Daniels littering the floor, but the room was almost pitch black. "Yes I'm here," he answered her.

"Wow," she drawled, looking around. "It is quite dark in here."

"What are you doing here?" Gabriel asked, not addressing the darkness.

A small crease appeared between her eyebrows and she tucked her hands into her pockets. "Quin asked me to come."

Gabriel found that rather suspicious, but then he knew Quin was desperate to get things back on track. "I'm fine, he didn't need to waste your time."

"I'm glad to hear it," she responded easily, nudging a jack daniels bottle with her toe. "Just for my own curiosity, why are there two chairs in your pool?"

He considered the question, "you know I don't honestly recall, I'm sure There's a very good reason," his words slurred at the end as he briefly lost composure.

Her lips quirked slightly. "I'm sure that's true," she agreed. "Well, if you're fine, I'll just get going."

The last thing he wanted was for her to leave, though he didn't want to sound desperate. Why did this have to be so complicated? She had been around for a total of five minutes and he could already get that calming soothing vibe that he craved that she had given from the start. "Well maybe fine isn't accurate."

She paused with her hand on the door and half turned back. She looked at him through the din and wondered why it couldn't be simple. Relationships should be easy. And maybe if she had been someone else, or he had, it would have been. "Fine is usually what people say to mean shitty," she observed, then realized that that's what she had been saying since she ended things.

"See that sounds a little more accurate," Gabriel agreed with a brief chuckle. He rose from his chair across the room and came out to her. He certainly didn't look like the same man, not shaven, long hair in disarray, dressed in sweats and a baggy shirt-- no suit. "So how have you been?" He asked drinking from the half full bottle of booze in hand.

"Fine," she responded, smiling at the irony. She didn't actually hate his new look. He did look shockingly sharp in a suit, but the messy hair and five o'clock shadow worked just fine. She unconsciously clasped her hands behind her around the door handle.

"Right," he agreed with a nod. It did make him feel a little better that she wasn't able to move on either. "So then why did you do it? I never got a real explanation."
