After meeting her father, getting along in the relationship became simple. He was a little unpredictable and by that meaning tardy. But he made a point of never fully missing a date or set up between his girlfriend and her family and father. Cameron couldn't remember the last time he had made such a full commitment to something outside the hero organization. He had to make many compromises and make up a lot of excuses with that old side of himself but he reasoned this is good do this for yourself.

Veruka was delighted with the way things were going. Things settled so very nicely. She was starting to think long term, as in she could see doing this long term, with him. Her family loved him and he seemed to at least like her family. it was wonderful.

Her father was inviting them to some event ever weekend, he was clearly well involved in anti heroism acts but her father showed nothing else of who he truely was. Camron thought to tell her many times but could never accuse. He just tried to put it aside. The superman dozed next to his now, long term girlfriend in his tiny bachelor apartment. He had never felt more content as he had sleeping next to her.

She had a drawer at his place, and half of his bathroom. That fact never ceased to amaze her. She spent just as much time there as she did in her own home or anywhere else for that matter. She was also excited for the event that weekend, a party for some guy he knew. She liked the chances to get dressed up.

She already knew his biggest secret, few knew that much, as far as he was concerned he had nothing to hide from her. She could go anywhere in his tiny place. He took up little space she could have whatever part she wanted, he never understood why she would rather be in his place. Camron also NEVER had guests. He was so non human that his place was unusedin until his first real commitment. She brought out this social ability even the coming weekend , Camron felt he wouldn't seem alien no matter what her father tried.

Veruka put the finishing touches on her makeup before they headed over to her father's event. She had no idea that Cameron thought her dad was a bad guy.

"So what exactly is going on at your fathers this time?" Camron asked as they were almost there. He had been told to dress up clearly this was a special occasion and as they came upon the gate it was obvious that there was a great deal of guests.

"It's an unveiling of some kind I think," she responded after a second, excitedly looking over the crowd. "Some new art piece maybe? I'm pretty sure I was working on a twenty page paper the day he invited us and I may have momentarily blanked out."

"Looks like he has a lot more guests than normal," Camron mentioned he couldn't help but feel a little nervous knowing how public he would be. He tried not to let it show trying to refrain from letting his hand, holding hers, grip any harder.

Camron nodded, "I'm right beside you," one of her fathers butlers was there to open the door, the sound of quartet music and the smell of lavished foods greeted them instantly. The ballroom opened to the sight of the party in motion.

"No kidding," Camron agreed a little stunned. It seemed anyone who was anyone in Gothamme was there. The mayor, several famous actors, and of course all the high class business men with the big bucks. This couldn't be good was all cam could think

"Is that the mayor?" she asked, a rhetorical observation. "I have no idea how he pulls this together." Then she snorted with laughter. "He probably hired someone to arrange it all. Want to get some drinks?"
