It happened so quickly the drunk idiot fell, spilled maxs drink and she was just gone. He couldn't explain it perhaps she just came to her senses. He tried to shrug it off and go on with his night until the body was discovered and the cops arrived and the place was evacuated. So he headed home.

By the time everything got sorted out it was quite a bit later and Max was gone. She stood across the street, hands on her hips. She debated just going home but she realized she was still very much interested. Amused with herself, she turned and strolled down the street, using the scant information he had provided to suss out where his place was. That didn't take long. She figured once she'd had him this interest would go away and she could get back to life as usual, as had happened before. Riley knocked on his door, lounging against the wall in the moonlight while she waited.

His grey houseboat sat at the very end of the dock, like he had told her. Max was never use to company he never had to give out an exact address, he didn't really know anyone. So when someone came on his boat knocking he couldn't help but be extremely cautious. When the knock came the dog sitting at his feet jolted and barked a few times before being silent and looking toward Max. He considered not answering it was late, nothing good could come of it. Regardless he crossed the kitchen to the front door, pulling it open slowly.

Face tilted up to the moon it took her a second to look over, shaking dark hair back. "You do live here," she said with a wicked smile. "I was starting to think I might have the wrong place."

He arched a brow at her, this had to be a joke? An ambush? Definitely too good to be true. "You actually tracked me down?" Max asked stunned where was the kicker.

She laughed at his expression. "It really wasn't too hard. And I like you." She looked past him, suggestive. "Are you going to invite me in?"

Without even thinking he nodded and gave her access, even though she was practically a stranger.

She strolled in with a smile, loose-limbed, hips swaying. She looked around with mild curiosity. She didn't recall ever having been in a houseboat before. Boats, yes, but not a houseboat.

It was no different from a small slightly shabby one bedroom apartment. He had a bathroom plumbing cable for his one small tv and a small kitchen. His dog got to its feet from its he'd in the kitchen and came to see what was going on.

"Nice dog," she commented. She turned to face him, eyebrows lifting. "Is he going to eat me?"

Max chuckled a little, "She wouldn't hurt a fly, I wouldn't worry," he told her. "Do you want a drink?"

Max nodded, "I don't think I've ever had a guest here," he commented as he went to the mini fridge that was stocked only with beer and removed two giving one to her.
